For us poor Pitts drivers that don't want to make the trek to Oshkosh in our Pitts, the California Pitts Fly-In is born.
Columbia airport offers on airport camping and a few campsites are on a first come first served basis, but there is never a shortage of space. There are 14 firepits and picnic tables and a group fire pit. There are camp showers and bathrooms.
There are also a few hotels within walking distance from the airport.
Yea, no $hit! If you want to pack your camp gear and other stuff and ship it ahead of time, Jake's Air Repair is willing to receive your parcels and mail them back for you the following week. Reach out to JakesAirRepair@gmail.com to coordinate.
Parking is $10/night paid to Tuolumne County Airport. You can pay online or leave cash in the Iron Ranger.
A $30 bill is to cover event costs.
Harry Warner, grandson of Curtis Pitts will share stories and personal pictures of his grandfather.

Look for someone to guide you. They may or may not exist depending on available volunteers.
Runway 17/35 is paved and plenty long.
Runway 29 is the grass. it is in good shape and is safe for a Pitts with wheel pants. The runway will be mowed tight on Wednesday beforehand.
If landing on the grass, look for someone to flag you in.
If landing on the pavement 17/35, you can take the crude taxiway that is on the north side of the grass runway to the campground but be advised it is loose asphalt. Suggestion would be to taxi in the dirt next to the crushed asphalt "taxiway" to the parking areas.
OR
You can take the taxiway that parallels the grass runway on the south side. You can taxi past the hangars on your left, and once clear (dont blast hangars!) you can taxi across the grass runway to parking.
OR
There will be Pitts parking in front of the old looking hangars along the south side of the grass runway for those that don't want to taxi off pavement.
Parking for a Pitts is in the red areas show on the image. Non Pitts airplanes can park north of the grass runway but east of the campground service road.
Boring airplanes can also park on the paved ramp east of runway 17/35.
There are no tie downs on the west side of the airport. Only tie downs are on the ramp. Bring your own tie downs. There is almost never significant winds at O22. O22 is in a protected "bowl" and rarely gets dangerous winds. Airplanes are frequently left outside not tied down.
Overnight Fee is $10/Night payable to the airport. QR code for online payment of cash into the iron ranger.
There are picnic tables, fire pits and a nice bathroom / shower building.
Potential light rain. There is no overnight hangar space available at O22.
