Introduction to Aerobatics Class

See the other side of flying and expand your abilities as a pilot with aerobatics!

At Columbia Flying Club, we are committed to helping students become highly skilled aviators, not just pilots. Our experienced instructors provide a comprehensive aviation education that includes classroom instruction, flight simulation, and hands-on flying experience. Our students are equipped with the knowledge and skills necessary to succeed in aviation. We do that by offering this class.

Introduction to Aerobatics is a two day course and limited to four pilots. This class will spend time in the classroom discussing aerobatics, aerodynamics, advanced stall theory, how to fly maneuvers, competition aerobatics, reading aresti and how to be safe during aerobatic flight. You will also get an hour of aerobatic flight time in our 1995 American Champion Aircraft 8KCAB Super Decathlon. Usually flight time is broken up between two flights. Scheduled for February 1-2 2025.  (weather permitting flights or the class may be postponed to a following weekend.) The cost is $500/ per person. The class is open to student pilots and above, although it is suggested to at least be a private pilot. You do not need to have a tailwheel endorsement but it does help! You need to  bring nothing but a  good attitude, willingness to learn and athletic shoes or slip on shoes with easy to tuck away laces!
